Default Can GW:F run on a 56K modem?

Ok, so I switched DSL companies and now have a 4-day down time while I wait for the switch to happen, so my question is, can GW:F run on a 56k modem? Is it playable (please post if you have played it on a 56k modem and how good or bad it is)....

thanks!

i dont have a 56k modem, but Anet designed the game to run fine on 56k modem, if you already have visted the town when on dsl then it should be fine

Ive been playing GW for 13 months now on a 56K modem. It works like a champ, in fact in 13 months I only had one disconnect on my side. And I watch everyone with the high speed connections drop all the time.

Anyways updates are a CHORE thats the only problem with 56K, its a real bummer

Oh and you cant really use any Ventrillo or TS or else you will lag badly over the 56K

I met someone on 56K, and he loaded zones really slow. Beside that, he played just as fast as any other.

simple answer: Yes, but not recommended, and also as Kitty says loading times are incredibly slow.

I was in HA and the other team had 7 players, initially thinking that they had lost one on the loading screen however when we had them beaten to about 3 left this person entered the game xD

I just swithced to broadband because of the updates only we had a nasty 2 hour one a couple weeks ago. With the modem I only experienced slow downloads to new areas, and the weekly updates.

Yea, I was so glad when I dropped AOL for CableOne.
